Equipping the Saints
The Great Commission (Matt 28:19) is encapsulated in the imperative to "make disciples." A disciple
is a student under teaching (John 8:31). True disciples are those who abide in the Word of God.
This study requires diligence (2 Tim 2:15) not just for the Pastor-Teacher but for every believer.
This study is line upon line, precept upon precept (Isa 28:13a) throughout the whole counsel of God's
Word (Acts 20:27).
Austin Bible Church provides instruction in order to equip believers to engage in such indepth Bible study.
- The Greek and Hebrew languages are regularly taught so that any believer who desires to study in the
original languages may do so.
- Hermeneutics, Textual Criticism, Church History and Systematic Theology are also offered so that Bible
students who become Bible teachers are effectively prepared to accurately handle God's eternal Word.
Educational training is critical for children as well, so classes have been specifically developed to help
them grow in understanding and appreciation of the Word of God.
- Our Sunday School classes prepare the children with a foundation in Christ and teach them from an early
age to appreciate the truth of God's Word.
- The Sunday evening Teen Workshop allows Pastor Bob to form a direct relationship with the teenagers and
show them that he is their pastor, not just their parents' pastor.
