Bible Church Distinctives

  1. Purposes of a Bible Church.
    1. To stand unequivocably for the fundamentals of the Faith as contained in Holy Scripture.
    2. To present the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ at home and abroad to those who have not heard.
    3. To teach the Holy Scriptures for the edification of those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
    4. To observe the ordinance of the Lord's Table and Baptism, "til He come."
  2. Distinctives of a Bible Church.
    1. A Bible Church is Bible-centered -- stressing the relevance of the Word of God, believing that correctly interpreted and applied it offers the answer to man's every problem.
    2. The Bible Church is doctrinally conservative -- holding to the fundamentals of the Christian faith as contained in Scriptures.
    3. The Bible Church is evangelical -- actively endeavoring to win individuals to the Lord Jesus Christ.
    4. The Bible Church is denominationally unrelated -- believing that the local church can best function independently of all denominational programs and machinery.
    5. The Bible Church is self-supporting -- relying on its constituency to support the work materially without pledges or assessments.
    6. The Bible Church is self-governing -- believing that outside restrictions and restraints from ecclesiastical hierarchies only hinder efficiency.
    7. The Bible Church is self-propogating -- spreading the gospel by sending its own missionaries, starting other churches, etc.
